Parenting Classes
Arborwoman Health provides a variety of free classes for our expecting patients and our greater community! These classes provide valuable information from preparations for an informed labor and delivery to safety practices in your home.

Preparing for Labor and Delivery: Understanding Birth
Gain confidence during labor! In this 1.5 to 2 hour class, you will learn: The stages of labor, timing contractions, when to go to the hospital, what to do if your water breaks, various comfort techniques, overcoming the fear-pain connection, tips for support partners, what to pack and communicating your birth preferences.
Gather in Lobby L of Domino's Farms to be escorted to our conference room. Class is open to any mom in her 3rd trimester (at least 26 weeks). Inviting your support person is encouraged!

Preparing for Labor and Delivery: Medical Interventions
Prepare for unexpected or planned medical procedures during labor while gaining knowledge to make important decisions. Topics include: Pain management options, (Nitrous, morphine, epidural..) and medical interventions, (Labor augmentation, induction, c-section...)

This online class is provided by The Washtenaw Area Council for Children for expecting mothers living in Washtenaw County. It provides safe sleep and shaken baby prevention training for parents and caregivers. Learn the ABCs of safe sleep, tummy time, and safety when breastfeeding. Non-residents of Washtenaw County may find similar free offerings available from other counties in SE Michigan.
Participants with the following qualifications are eligible to receive a free Pack N Play and Sleep Sack upon completion of the training: The registered participant must live in Washtenaw County, be a patient at Arborwoman Health, be Medicaid eligible, and attend the Safe Sleep online class.
This Class is free and open to moms in their 3rd trimester (at least 26 weeks). Partners and other caregivers are also welcome.

Baby & Child Safety Class
Learn the best safety practices to keep your little one safe and healthy! Topics include: Safety at home and in the car, safety products, poison awareness and emergency preparedness. This online class is free and open to any mom in her 3rd trimester (at least 26 weeks) or moms with infants up to 12 months.
