Parenting Classes
Step into your role of parenthood with confidence and support through our parenting classes. These classes provide valuable information to any pregnant mom. Class topics range from safe sleep practices for your baby, to preparation for labor and delivery.
Preparing for Labor and Delivery: Practical Preparations
Learn practical ways to prepare for labor and delivery that will help you approach labor with calm and confidence. Topics include: making a birth plan, creating a confident atmosphere, going to the hospital, understanding comfort measures, and planning postpartum. Class is open to any mom in her 3rd trimester (at least 26 weeks). Support person encouraged!

Preparing for Labor and Delivery: Medical Information
Learn the various medical interventions available during labor and delivery so you feel equipped with the knowledge you need to approach labor with confidence. Topics include: stages of labor, medical interventions, pain management and postnatal decisions. Class is open to any mom in her 3rd trimester (at least 26 weeks). Support person encouraged!

Learn best practices to create a safe sleep environment for your baby. Class is interactive and includes a discussion on purposeful parenting. Class is taught by the Safe Sleep Coordinator of WACC (Washtenaw Area Council for Children). Class is free and open to any mom in her 3rd trimester (at least 26 weeks).
Baby & Child Safety Class
Come learn about safety practices to keep your baby safe and healthy!. Topics include: car safety, safety products, home safety, poison safety and emergency preparedness. Class is taught by a qualified arborwoman health volunteer. Class is free and open to any mom in her 3rd trimester (at least 26 weeks) or moms of infants up to 12 months.
