An ultrasound can give you accurate and up-to-date medical information about your pregnancy including: - Confirm if you are pregnant - Determine if the pregnancy is viable or if you have miscarried - Indicate the location of the pregnancy, which can be life-threatening if not located inside the uterus - Show if you are carrying single or multiple pregnancies - Determine your estimated due date - Detect/View cardiac activity (the human heart starts to beat at 5 weeks) - Provide the gestational age. This is especially important if you are considering an abortion as the gestational age determines the type and cost of an abortion procedure.
